Electrosteel Jal Sevak Samman 2025 to Honour Water Warriors of Eastern India

Electrosteel Castings Limited, India’s pioneering Ductile Iron pipe manufacturer and global water infrastructure leader on 16th July announced the third edition of its flagship initiative, Jal Sevak Samman (JSS), with an expanded regional focus covering four Eastern Indian states – West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha in presence of Mr. Sunil Katial, CEO & Whole-time Director, Ms. Radha Kejriwal Agarwal, Whole-time Director and Ms. Nityangi Kejriwal Jaiswal, Whole-time Director at Electrosteel Castings Limited.

Electrosteel Castings Limited will host the third edition of Jal Sevak Samman 2025 on 31st August 2025- an initiative that continues to uphold the spirit of recognising unsung heroes dedicated to water conservation, sustainability and equitable water access across India.

Jal Sevak Samman 2025, while reaffirming its commitment to honouring individuals and institutions driving impactful change in the field of water conservation and sustainability, has expanded its footprint this year. Launched in West Bengal in 2023, the initiative has now expanded to Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha marking a significant milestone in its journey to recognise grassroot changemakers across Eastern India. The initiative reflects Electrosteel’s deep-rooted commitment to the cause of water, aligned with its mission of “Carrying life to people, safe drinking water for all.”

To uphold the essence of the initiative, a structured and collaborative nomination drive was conducted across the four states in partnership with local administrations, NGOs, civil society organisations, State Water Missions and on-ground networks. The outreach extended to districts, blocks, and panchayats. As a result, the platform. received 68 nominations recognising individuals and institutions actively working in areas such as rainwater harvesting, groundwater recharge, river rejuvenation, sustainable irrigation, traditional water wisdom and improved water access in remote communities.

The nominations will be evaluated by a distinguished jury comprising Dr. Dhriti Banerjee, Director, Zoological Survey of India, Dr. Kalyan Rudra, Chairman, West Bengal Pollution Control Board, Mr. Soumen Mitra, IPS (Retd), and Mr. Sunil Katial, CEO & Whole Time Director, Electrosteel Castings Ltd, who will review and select the final awardees through a process that is inclusive, transparent and participatory.

In a landmark addition this year, Electrosteel will be introducing Jal Manthan – The Water Summit, a visionary platform aimed at fostering deeper dialogue around sustainable water management in India. The summit will feature two key sessions- Jal Pravah and a ted style Talk Jal Vaani. Each session will feature the following distinguished speakers Dr. Mihir Shah, Former Member, Planning Commission & Chair of the 2021 National Water Policy Drafting Committee, Mr. Ranjan K Panda, Water Man of Odisha & Climate Crusader, Dr. Kalyan Rudra, Chairman of the West Bengal Pollution Control Board, Mr. Uddhav Kejriwal, Whole Time Director, Electrosteel Castings Limited, Ms. Priyam Budhia, a champion of sustainability and water conservation and Ms. Jyoti Sharma, Founder, Force.
