Dr. Anjali Chatterjee Regional Research Institute for Homoeopathy (DACRRIH), Kolkata, on 9th December, hosted a media interaction in advance of the upcoming second WHO Global Summit on Traditional Medicine, scheduled to be held from December 17 to 19, 2025 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
The session highlighted the objectives, global relevance, and scientific priorities of the Summit, as well as the significant contributions of the Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH) and DACRRIH in advancing evidence-based traditional and integrative medicine.
Addressing the media, officials outlined that the Summit, co-hosted by the Ministry of Ayush and the World Health Organisation (WHO), will bring together ministers, policymakers, researchers, global health leaders, and practitioners from over 100 countries. This year’s theme, “Restoring balance: The science and practice of health and well-being,” reflects the global shift toward evidence-based, and sustainable integration of traditional, and Indigenous medicine systems.
Speakers also referred to the national Curtain Raiser held in New Delhi on December 8, 2025, where Union Minister of State (IC) for Ayush Shri Prataprao Jadhav underscored India’s leadership in traditional medicine and the global confidence in Ayush systems.
At the briefing, Dr. Arti Soren, Assistant Director (H), DACRRIH, provided an overview of the institute’s research strengths, including its state-of-the-art virology laboratory, drug standardisation facility, and a wide portfolio of clinical, fundamental, and drug research projects. Other speakers included Dr. Gurudev Choubey, Dr. Suraia Parveen, Dr. Partha Pratim Pal, Dr. Chittaranjan Kundu, Dr. Bibaswan Biswas, and Dr. G.V. Narasimha Kumar. They shared insights into research protocols, drug proving, clinical verification, and community health outreach initiatives, including services offered through special clinics.
The event concluded with a call for strengthening research collaborations and enhancing public awareness on the global significance of the second WHO Global Summit on Traditional Medicine, where India will play a central role in shaping the future of integrative healthcare.
