The unveiling event, on 23rd January, witnessed the presence of several eminent personalities from the fields of food, publishing, hospitality and entrepreneurship, making the evening warm, engaging and celebratory. The book was launched in the esteemed presence of Mr. Subrata Dutta Trustee and Managing Director, The George Telegraph Group; Mr. Indrajit Lahiri, Founder of Foodka Consulting & Foodka Academy; Mr. Tridib Kumar Chatterjee, Hon’ble General Secretary of the Publishers & Booksellers Guild; Mr. Sudhangshu Sekhar Dey, President of the Publishers & Booksellers Guild; Chef Palak Chatterjee, Owner of Anglo Bongs Caffe; Chef Jayanta Banerjee, Executive Chef at Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group; Mr. Rajiv Paul, Founder of Bhooter Raja Dilo Bor; Mr. Tanmoy Banerjee, Founder and Managing Director of RT Network Solutions Pvt. Kaberir Rannaghar stood out for its fresh and thoughtful approach to cooking, focusing on Continental, Chinese, Parsi, Afghani and other global recipes that were carefully curated and adapted for everyday home kitchens. The first book of the series featured salads, snacks and select chicken recipes, keeping modern lifestyles and growing health consciousness in mind, while traditional dishes like dal, shukto or chorchori were intentionally left out to offer readers something new and uncommon. The inspiration behind the book stemmed from Kaberi Biswas’s lifelong love for cooking—nurtured since childhood under her mother’s guidance and later refined through training with professional chefs. With constant encouragement from her family, especially her husband, she transformed her personal collection of recipes into this book, a journey that unfolded over nearly seven months of dedication and creativity.
Speaking about the journey, Kaberi Biswas said, “This book was born from my kitchen and my heart. I always believed that food has the power to connect cultures. Through Kaberir Rannaghar, I wanted to share flavours that go beyond borders but still feel homely and familiar.” Beyond her passion for cooking and writing, Kaberi Biswas has also been actively associated with sports and community initiatives. Kaberi Biswas is Trustee and Hony Treasurer of Star Badminton Academy, Harinavi, which is an International Badminton Academy.
The author described her writing journey as deeply enjoyable and fulfilling, where each recipe opened up new ideas and creative possibilities. Kaberir Rannaghar reflected not just a collection of recipes, but years of experience, experimentation and a genuine love for food. As the first book in a three-part series by Prajnaa Publication, it also set the tone for what lies ahead, with upcoming editions dedicated to traditional Bengali cuisine and baked delights like cakes and cookies. With its unique concept, simple presentation and global appeal, Kaberir Rannaghar beautifully celebrated the joy of cooking, the comfort of home kitchens and the timeless pleasure of sharing flavours beyond borders.
