BONGOPEX-2025: Department of Posts, West Bengal Circle to Host 10th State-Level Philately Exhibition

The Department of Posts, West Bengal Circle, is organizing the 10th State-Level Philately Exhibition, BONGOPEX-2025, from November 14 to 17 at Science City, Kolkata. The exhibition is being organised after 6 years. The last State Level Philately Exhibition (Ekla Cholo Re) was held in 2019. This prestigious event aims to promote philately among the younger generation and showcase a wide range of stamps and philatelic activities.

The exhibition will be inaugurated by the Hon’ble Governor of West Bengal, His Excellency Dr. C.V. Ananda Bose, and will feature various engaging activities, including essay writing, musical concerts, and stamp designing competitions for school children.

Shri Ashok Kumar, Chief Postmaster General, West Bengal, Sikkim, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, said, “Postage stamps carry the history of any country’s philosophy, culture, literature, society, public life, politics, evolution and many other things. Millions of people around the world collect postage stamps for the pursuit of knowledge and interest. To further encourage people’s enthusiasm and love for postage stamp collection, the Postal Department organizes Exhibitions at various times. The Stamp Exhibition is a platform where collectors, researchers, students, dealers and Postal Administration come together to showcase world’s best stamps and other postal items.

With immense pride and joy, we are happy to announce that the 10th State-level Stamp Exhibition, named “BONGOPEX-2025”, has been organised by the West Bengal Circle, Department of Posts, which will be held from 14th to 17th November, 2025, at the Science City, Kolkata.

The Exhibition allows all to explore the finer and detailed aspects of Philately, from novice enthusiasts to experienced collectors. The Exhibition will display a collection of rare and diverse stamps in about 400 frames. There will be various other interesting activities such as Philatelic workshop, letter writing competition, sit and draw competition, Stamp Designing competition, Quiz Competition etc. It will enrich participants with the details of Philately across all age groups, and will also provide an opportunity for vendors to attract new members to their stalls.

We request all the parents, teachers and family members to come and actively participate in this Exhibition. This unique hobby of collecting stamps helps the younger generation to go beyond screens, video games and social media and helps to build creative abilities in them.
