Guru Nanak Institute of Hotel Management, a JIS Group Institute, announced the winners at the closing ceremony of the 8th World Food Competition. The closing ceremony was held at GNIHM Campus on 14th March. The winners were announced for the categories of best chef, best cake icing, best fruit carving, and best mixology. The concluding event showcased the skills of distinguished judges and well-known chefs, including Sanjeev Kapoor, Kunal Kapur, Ajay Chopra, and Parvinder Singh Bali. It also featured renowned international chefs such as Annanchai Suttision from Thailand, Ms. Lida Siddons from the UK, and Lesley Jacob from South Africa.
The thrilling and delicious three-day adventure of the 8th World Food Competition concluded with the participation of skilled chefs from various countries displaying their talents and innovations. Participants from 40 countries took part in each mega-event, totalling 160 global participants. This competition not only celebrated food but also served as a platform for advocating sustainable approaches in the food sector. Every participant demonstrated the essence of the competition by emphasising the significance of practical and ethical methods in the food industry, paving their way to flavourful triumphs. Among them, the best chef for culinary competition was awarded to Belal Saleh Faled Hassan Mahmood, Egypt; best cake icing chef was awarded to Palesa Julia Pejane, South Africa; best fruit carving chef was awarded to Jaime Louise Reyes, Philippines and best mixology chef was awarded to Rimpi Das, India.
