An unusual love story of a Cabaret Dancer Miss Elina (played by Puja Banerjee) and a Naxalite Militant Swarup( Satyam. Bhattacharya) dramatically wrapped under contemporary radical politics, social hierarchy, class struggle and human relationship. Cabaret promises to be an emotional journey of a young girl from a remote village to claim the crown of the best cabaret dancer of Calcutta.
For the first time actress Puja Banerjee will be seen playing the role of a Cabaret dancer. “I always wanted to play a character like Miss Elina. Cabaret has got a very beautiful love story in it. As an actor you get very little opportunity where the script demands the best of you. Miss Elina has quite a lot of shades which you will soon see when Cabaret releases.”
“The journey of Miss Elina comes to terms with different people and situations that not only shapes her life but also decides the courses of others around her. Its a story of love, passion, family, emotion, politics, revenge and most importantly of different human conditions.”, says director Utsav Mukherjee.
Directed by Utsav Mukherjee, Cabaret stars Puja Banerjee, Satyam Bhattacharya, Santilal Mukherjee in lead roles. The music will be helmed by Shibasish Mukherjee. Cabaret to start streaming on 26th January.
