Society of Contemporary Artists (SCA) organized it’s annual show 2022 at Birla Academy of Art & Culture from 13 to 24 December.
The latest works of nineteen members and two invited guest artists were up for the 63rd annual exhibition. The exhibition hosted the works of Aditya Basak, Akhil Ch. Das, Atanu Bhattacharya, Atin Basak, Bimal Kundu, Bholanath Rudra, David Malakar, Ganesh Haloi, Lalu Prasad Shaw, Manoj Dutta, Manoj Mitra, Manu Parekh, Niranjan Pradhan, Pankaj Panwar, Pradip Maitra, Rajen Mondal, Sanat Kar, Saumen Khamrui, Srikanta Paul, Subrata Biswas and Ashis Chowdhury.
SCA is one of the very prominent and active artist collectives in India. The organization was set in 1960 to serve as a space where Indian artists could discuss and exhibit their work. Many famous artists like Somnath Hore, Prakash Karmakar and Bijan Chowdhury were among the founding members of SCA.
“We celebrated golden jubilee in 2009 and confident of completing 100 years. We believe in nurturing young members to take legacies forward”, said Atin Basak, veteran painter and trustee of SCA.
