Cricket legend and Fortune Kachi Ghani Mustard Oil brand ambassador, Sourav Ganguly, enjoys the festive celebration and culinary heritage of Bengal’s most loved Hilsa cuisine at the recently held grand finale of the Fortune Kachi Ghani Mustard Oil Hilsa Festival in Kolkata. To celebrate the iconic culinary event, brand ambassador Sourav Ganguly launched Fortune’s special Kachi Ghani Mustard Oil (KGMO) Ilish pack that highlights the rich tradition and cultural significance of the Hilsa fish. The limited-edition pack features a stunning design inspired by 19th-century Kalighat potchitro art, serving as a visual tribute to the region’s artistic heritage. The cricket legend also tried preparing his childhood favourite Ilish recipe.
The daylong event highlighted the culinary skills of 50 talented finalists who competed in a live cooking competition, demonstrating their skills in preparing delectable Ilish recipes. The finalists were selected from various societies and fish market activations and their cooking journey culminated in this grand finale.
The event also welcomed popular Bengali actors Kharak Mukhejee and Sonali Chowdhury, who engaged with the audience and participated with different teams, adding excitement and motivation to the competition. After an intense competition and meticulous judging the winners were announced, who impressed the judges with their exceptional culinary skills.
