West Bengal Postal Circle Launches Deen Dayal SPARSH Yojana 2026–27, Offers 40 Scholarships to School Students

The Department of Posts, West Bengal Circle, has announced the Deen Dayal SPARSH Yojana 2026–27, a scholarship scheme aimed at encouraging philately as an educational and creative hobby among school students.

Under the scheme, 40 annual scholarships of ₹6,000 each will be awarded to regular students of Classes VI to IX across West Bengal, Sikkim, and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. That’s 10 students selected from each class.

Here are the key details:

Eligibility: Students must have scored at least 60% marks in their last final exam. For SC/ST candidates, the minimum is 55%. Applicants must also be members of a School Philately Club or hold a live Philately Deposit Account (PDA).

Scholarship Disbursal: The ₹6,000 annual amount will be credited directly into the awardees’ POSB or IPPB accounts on a quarterly basis.

Selection Process:
1. Level 1 – Screening Test: A written Philately Quiz will be held on 30th September 2026 at 11:00 AM across regional offices.
2. Level 2 – Final Evaluation: Shortlisted candidates will submit an original 4–5 page Philately Project.

How to Apply: Eligible students must submit the completed application form, attested by their school principal, to the concerned Regional Postmaster General Office — Kolkata Region, South Bengal Region, North Bengal Region, Sikkim State, or A&N Islands Division. The last date is 21st September 2026.

Applications can be sent by Speed Post, Registered Post, or submitted by hand.
