All India Legal Aid Forum organized a felicitation programme of Justice Smt. Indira Banerjee, Hon’ble former Judge of Supreme Court of India, on 14th February in Kolkata. The felicitation programme was graced by Hon’ble Mr. Shyamal Kumar Sen, former Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court and former Governor of West Bengal; Hon’ble Mr. Ashok Das Adhikary, former judge of Calcutta High Court; Chairman of All India Bar Association Mr. Adrish Agarwal; Hon’ble Chairman of West Bengal Bar Council- Mr. Ashok Deb; His Excellency Mr. Eshor Raj Poudel, Hon’ble Consul General of Nepal and other senior advocates and guests.
Hon’ble Justice Shyamal Kumar Sen appreciated and thanked Mr. Joydeep Mukherjee, General Secretary of All India Legal Aid Forum for organizing the felicitation programme.
“She is so polite and good in her behavior that she is loved by everybody”, said Justice Ashok Das Adhikary.
Mr. Eshor Raj Poudel highlighted the special relationship between India and Nepal in his speech. “Nepal’s legal system has been greatly inspired by Indian system”, said Mr. Powdel.
“Justice Smt Indira Mukherjee is an inspiration to all women”, said Mr. Adrish Agarwal, Chairman of All India Bar Association.
Her Ladyship Mrs. Indira Banerjee in her speech very humbly said “I have done my duty only. Throughout my career as a judge I have received love and cooperation from bar and everybody. I wish many more women to join law profession and judiciary”.
Advocate Joydeep Mukherjee, General Secretary of All India Legal Aid Forum said ” Justice Smt Indira Mukherjee is our gurdian. Her Ladyship has been a people’s judge throughout her career. She still gives us expert advices to serve people in need of legal help”.
