All India Legal Aid Forum Felicitates Justice Rabindranath Samanta & Supreme Court Bar Association President

On 2nd July, the All India Legal Aid Forum organized a felicitation programme of Hon’ble Justice Rabindranath Samanta, Former Judge at Calcutta High Court and Hon’ble Dr. Adish Chandra Agarwala for being the newly elected President of the Supreme Court Bar Association at Peerless Inn Hotel in Kolkata.

Hon’ble Justice Ashoke Das Adhikari, Former Judge, Calcutta High Court; Hon’ble Mr. Ashok Deb, Chairman, Bar Council of West Bengal graced the occasion. A group of erudite advocates of Supreme Court of India and Calcutta High Court were present. Advocate Sanjoy Bardhan, Gorachand Roychowdhury, Swagata Datta, Mukul Biswas were spotted among many others. Distinguished Guests from different sectors of the society were also present in the occasion.

Hon’ble Mr. Joydeep Mukherjee, Advocate, Supreme Court of India & General Secretary, All India Legal Aid Forum delivered the welcome address. In his speech Mr. Joydeep Mukherjee said, “Hon’ble Justice Rabindranath Samanta dedicated himself in the judicial service from last 36 years and His Lordship rendered his service for the State with judicial acumen. Today, we are very glad to give felicitation to His Lordship. Hon’ble Dr. Adish Chandra Agarwal, Senior Advocate of Supreme Court of India, the Chairman of International Council of Jurist and All India Bar Association. In the month of April 2023, he was elected as the President of the Supreme Court Bar Association, is also dedicated his service to the Nation by his Advocacy. Today, we are also very glad to give felicitation to Dr. Adish Chandra Agarwal.”

All India Legal Aid Forum extends free legal services to the people of lower socio-economic strata. Under the leadership of Mr. Joydeep Mukherjee, the organization undertakes different activities involving Judges and Advocates to sensitize people about their right to justice and human rights.
