Bata India, India’s most trusted footwear brand, is gearing up for the Pujo season in West Bengal with its latest festive campaign, ‘Comfort is the Occasion’, featuring actress Ritabhari Chakraborty. With West Bengal contributing 10 – 12% to Bata India’s overall business, the state remains an important market particularly during the festive season. Bata expects its festive sales in West Bengal to grow by double digit this Pujo, driven by strong consumer engagement, a refreshed festive assortment and the brand’s wide retail presence across the region.
The campaign celebrates the many occasions that make Pujo special from pandal hopping and family gatherings to festive lunches, evenings out with friends and spontaneous plans across the city. The collection brings together contemporary styles, versatility and Bata’s focus on comfort, with footwear designed to complement different festive looks while keeping consumers comfortable through long days and nights of celebration. Ritabhari Chakraborty brings a strong Bengali connect to the campaign, reflecting the contemporary spirit of a generation that embraces Pujo through tradition, fashion and self-expression.
Commenting on the campaign, Jasleen Kaur, Head of Marketing said, “In Bengal, Pujo has a rhythm of its own new clothes, new plans, familiar faces and the excitement of stepping out every day. That is what inspired the ‘Comfort is the Occasion’ collection that lets consumers enjoy the season on their own terms, while bringing together the aesthetics and comfort they want. Ritabhari is a natural fit for this thought and we are pleased to have her represent the campaign.”
Bata’s connection with Bengal extends beyond its retail presence to its longstanding relationship with the people and communities of the state. This commitment is reflected in the different ways Bata continues to contribute to the community. From the Bata Kishori Swasthya Project in Kolkata which aims to benefit 10,000 adolescent girls to supporting platforms that bring people together around learning, knowledge and shared interests.
The Bata IBSA Invitational Quiz is one such initiative, bringing together professionals, public sector organisations, students, faculty and alumni from institutions across India. Now in its second edition, Bata’s continued support reflects its effort to create spaces that encourage curiosity, knowledge-sharing and meaningful connections. During Pujo, this connection takes another form, with Bata being part of the celebrations for the pandals and the moments that bring Kolkata together.
The festive campaign builds on Bata’s growing retail and consumer reach in the region. The collection is available across Bata stores in West Bengal and on Bata.com, with prices starting at ₹799.
