i Communications, Pankaj Mullick Music and Art Foundation and Seven Boats Academy on 13th February celebrated the centenary of the radio service in India together at Kolkata Press Club. As part of the celebration, these organisations paid their tribute to the longest-running radio cultural programme in the world. Mahishasuramardini, the legendary oratorio broadcast annually on the auspicious day of Mahalaya preceding the autumnal Durga Puja celebrations. Through the programme named “Radio Ga Ga”, the organisations reminded people that radio is not only a torchbearer of heritage but a heady mix of information, culture and entertainment.
Gracing the occasion as Guests of Honour were acclaimed actor and author Bhaswar Chatterjee, noted voice artists and presenters Satinath Mukhopadhyay and Debashish Basu, as well as distinguished sociologist Prof Dr Ruby Sain. During the occasion, these prominent Bengali dignitaries were honoured for their outstanding work.
Chief Strategist of i Communications Soumyajit Mahapatra, Secretary of Pankaj Mullick Music and Art Foundation Rajib Gupta and the Chief Adviser of the organisation Jhinuk Gupta, and Debajyoti Banerjee, Founder and Director of Seven Boats Academy were also present.
In addition, i Communications has launched its official website and announced a slew of courses in collaboration with Pankaj Mullick Music and Art Foundation, including Public Speaking, Radio Jockeying and Podcasting. A partnership with Seven Boats Academy will see a course on AI for 21st Century Communication.
