The 5th season of DJ’s Cricket League (DCL), a unique and ground-breaking cricket tournament that brings DJs together under one roof, will be held on 1st October 2023 at the Spring Club Kolkata. The event is poised to celebrate the spirit of unity, reflection, and sportsmanship among DJs, marking another successful year of thrilling cricket action.
The launch of the 5th season, titled “DCL- DJ’S CRICKET LEAGUE,” was a momentous occasion that gathered the crème de la crème of the DJ community. The details of DCL were announced in presence of former cricketer Mr. Arun Lal at a press meet on 5th September in Kolkata.
The main goal of DCL is to foster camaraderie and collaboration through the game of cricket, showcasing the inherent strength of unity within the DJ fraternity.
At press meet names of the captains of six teams were announced. Sunny Sharma, Harish Lakhmani, Kunal Bose, Dippy Bindra, Hardik Thakker and Akash Rohira were announced as captians of six teams. Team jerseys were unveiled showcasing the distinct identities of each team. Winners trophy also was unveiled before media. the newly designed trophy, “DCL Darling,” is dedicated to the memory of Gurpreet Sethi, a beloved Committee member who passed away earlier this year. The trophy symbolizes not only victory on the field but also the cherished memories and unity that define the DCL DJ’s Cricket League.
The tournament is comprised of six league matches, leading up to two riveting semifinals and a climactic final showdown. Players were selected through a unique lucky draw system, where each captain had the opportunity to choose their team members. The players were categorized based on their performance over the years, ensuring a balanced and competitive environment.
Another standout feature of the event is the inclusion of female DJs, showcasing their prowess in the world of cricket. Six female DJs have joined the fray, infusing the tournament with a powerful touch of “Girl Power.”
