Ibis Rajarhat Kolkata Presents ‘Taste of Kolkata’ Buffet to Celebrate Poila Baishak

In celebration of Kolkata’s culinary heritage, Ibis Kolkata Rajarhat hosted a grand unveiling event on 6th April to mark the auspicious occasion of Poila Baishak.

The event, attended by esteemed guests, showcased an exquisite array of traditional Bengali delicacies. Adding to the festive ambiance were special guests’ actress Sayantani Guhathakurta, actress Misty Singh, model Madhabilata Mitra, former Hidco chairman and IAS officer Debashis Sen, and Associate Professor Urmila Sen, whose presence lent an air of excitement and cultural significance to the event. As attendees revelled in the flavours of Kolkata, they embraced the spirit of Poila Baishak.

From the comforting warmth of Sweet Corn Soup to the tantalizing blend of flavors in Veg Hakka Noodle, guests were treated to a gastronomic experience that captured the essence of Kolkata’s diverse culinary landscape. The Sweet and Sour Fish, cooked in traditional Bengali style, and the fiery Tengra Style Chili Chicken added a dash of spice to the festivities, reflecting the spirit of the streets of Kolkata.

The evening continued with an exploration of Kolkata’s street food culture, with stalls offering Phuchka and Bhel, Live Street Hawkers serving up Pyara & Kaccha Aam Chat and Jhal Muri, and a Tea Stall with Bhaja, where guests could savor Kulard Chai alongside Beguni, Aloo Chop, Pyaji, and Muri.

Not to be missed were the culinary delights at the Petai Paratha Counter, Lassi Corner, Misti Mukh Corner, Kulfi Falooda Counter, and Misti Paan Counter, each offering a selection of traditional sweets and refreshments that delighted the senses and transported guests to the bustling streets of Kolkata.
