ICSI -EIRC Collabs with Bhawanipur Education Society College to Organize Seminar on ‘DAMINI- Shakti Rupena Samsthita’

ICSI-EIRC, in association with The Bhawanipur Education Society College, Kolkata, organized “DAMINI – Shakti Rupena Samsthita,” a half-day seminar celebrating Women Empowerment on March 9, 2024. The event, held on the occasion of International Women’s Day, aimed to celebrate and empower women, recognizing their unique capabilities and contributions to society.

The seminar was graced by the esteemed presence of Smt. Usha Uthup, the recipient of India’s prestigious civilian award Padma Bhushan. Smt. Uthup delivered an inspiring keynote address, emphasizing the innate power and potential within every woman to create their own destinies. She emphasized upon the thin line drawn by the women to be different.

Smt. Ruchika Gupta, President of Sanmarg Group Pvt. Ltd, graced the occasion as the Special Guest.

CS (Dr.) Mohit Shaw, Chairman of Eastern India Regional Council of ICSI, delivered the welcome address, highlighting the significance of organising such unique programmes that blend social impact with professional development opportunities for members and students.

Dr. Suman Kumar Mukherjee, Director-General of Bhawanipur Education Society College, reflected on the creation of the universe and emphasized the pivotal role of women in society. Council member of ICSI, CS Rupanjana De, reiterated the importance of women as powerful decision-makers and contributors to societal development.

During the engaging technical sessions, industry experts and thought leaders explored diverse topics. The first session, “Being Different is the New Normal,” moderated by RJ Jimmy Tangree of 91.9 FM, featured insights from prominent figures including RJ Kuheli, Sukriti Agarwal, and CS Ritu Bajaj, discussing the significance of embracing individuality in today’s society.

The second session delved into the critical subject of the Data Protection Act, with CS Udit Jalan, CA Vivek Patwari, and Shri Sumantra Bose providing valuable perspectives on the implications of the Act and its impact on various sectors.

The event concluded with heartfelt thanks to all dignitaries and a special video message from CS Mamta Binani, former President of ICSI, emphasizing the importance of women’s empowerment and leadership in the professional realm.
