Countdown has started in the City of Joy upcoming Durga Puja. And for the people of West Bengal Durga Puja vacation is never complete without ‘Pujor Chhutir Berano’. So with ‘Khunti Pujo’ people are planning to book tickets for puja holidays. To give air to the wonderlust of Kolkatans, a Tourism Fair is going to be organised from 16th to 18th June at Khudiram Anushilan Kendra. The three days exhibition will be inaugurated by Hon’ble MIC, IT & Electronics and Tourism Department, Mr. Babul Supriyo. Ms. Piyali Basak, Mountaineer will be present as Special Guest. Different State Tourism officials and Association members will be present in the inaugural programme. Travel Agents Association of Bengal (TAAB) is the partner association of the fair.
This is the platform before Durga Puja where the tour lovers can interact with different State Tourism Departments, Travel Trade Members and plan their holidays. This exhibition is planned well in advance before Durga Puja so that one can plan and get the tickets before 120 days.
After the post Covid Tourism industry is reviving and the number of tourist are increasing in all places. So this tourism fair with more than 100 participants to boost up the tourism industry.
While sharing details about the fair at press meet Organizers also sought attention of the media regarding increasing incidents of Cyber Crime in the name of booking tour pacakes and hotels.
Mr. Amitava Sarkar, General Secretary of Travel Agents Association of Bengal said, “This Tourism fair also will act as a platform where people will get information and awareness about tourism related cyber crimes and they also can communicate directly with the Government officials and travel trade members at the fair”.
