PhonePe SmartSpeakers will soon be launching voice payment notifications in Bengali. With the addition of voice payment notifications in Bengali, merchants across the state can now access PhonePe SmartSpeakers in their preferred language within the PhonePe for Business app.
Merchants can also validate customer payments instantly in Bengali, without having to check the customer’s phone screen or wait for the payment confirmation SMS from the bank, especially during peak business hours. PhonePe SmartSpeakers are currently being utilized by merchant partners across 19,000 pin codes (covering over 90% of the country). The company had launched SmartSpeakers last year, to provide reliable and convenient payment tracking at stores. Within a short span of time, PhonePe has seen record-high deployment of over four million SmartSpeakers across the country. This is the fastest ramp-up seen for such devices among offline merchants nationwide.
