Kolkata witnessed a wave of pop-culture energy ahead of this weekend’s Kolkata Comic Con, as popular fictional characters were spotted across some of the city’s most iconic landmarks.
In a whimsical photo series created ahead of the festival, characters set off on a citywide “hunt” for the Kolkata Comic Con venue, hopping into yellow taxis, making stops at Nandan, and soaking in the views by Prinsep Ghat before finally coming together for the big weekend.
The images capture the spirit of Comic Con’s arrival in the city and the excitement building among fans as Kolkata prepares to host one of the country’s largest pop-culture spectacles.
Kolkata Comic Con, presented by Maruti Suzuki Arena powered by Crunchyroll, will take place this weekend April 11 & 12, at the Biswa Bangla Exhibition Centre, bringing together cosplay, comics, gaming, merchandise and live entertainment under one roof.
