In a tribute to the spirit of freedom, Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata (SMP), Kolkata — formerly Kolkata Port Trust — illuminated the iconic Rabindra Setu, popularly known as Howrah Bridge, in the vibrant hues of the Tricolour to mark the 79th Independence Day of India.
The Howrah Bridge, an enduring landmark of Kolkata and a vital artery for trade and transport, stood resplendent in the national colours, symbolising unity and reminding citizens that the spirit of independence continues to guide the nation’s progress.
