The Association of Chest Physicians, West Bengal, is organizing the 29th ACPCON 2026, its annual flagship conference, on February 7-8, at Swabhumi Rangdurbar, Kolkata. The conference will bring together around 350 doctors from West Bengal and other states, including eminent pulmonologists, critical care specialists, researchers, and healthcare professionals from across the country.
Due to increased pollution and smoking, lung problems, especially COPD and respiratory issues, have remarkably increased. About 8.36% of males aged 40+ in India have suffered from these problems, and it’s also increasing among non-smokers.
The conference aims to provide a platform for knowledge exchange, skill enhancement, and discussion on emerging trends in respiratory and critical care medicine. Pre-conference workshops on Mechanical Ventilation and Artificial Intelligence in Respiratory Medicine will equip participants with practical skills.
Topics include:
– Preventive Respiratory Medicine
– Advancements in Life Support Systems
– Respiratory Intensive Care
– Respiratory Infections and Tuberculosis (TB)
– Tuberculosis-associated chronic pulmonary disease (TOPD)
– Minimally Invasive Interventions in Pulmonology
– Importance of the new pneumonia vaccine
Renowned faculty members will lead sessions, ensuring high academic value. The conference aims to strengthen professional collaboration, promote evidence-based practice, and encourage innovation in respiratory care.
Organizers include Dr. AG Ghoshal, Dr. Joydeep Deb, Dr. Indranil Halder, and others. A book, ‘Pulmo-talk’, featuring speeches by doctors, will be released.
ACPCON 2026 promises to be a landmark event in advancing respiratory medicine and patient care.
