Renowned doctor couple Pradeepta and Madhusmita have been honored with Gourab Shree Samman 2024.
Dr. Pradipta Kumar Sethi is a successful Gastroenterologist. Dr. Madhusmita Behera, a successful ophthalmologist.
They not only serve patients, but also have been very active in various social activities for the last 10 years after forming the Bhimsen Foundation in the name of Pradeepta’s late father Dr. Bhimsen Sethy. Various charity activities for children, women, youth, medical camps, drug awareness, education for talented poor students, educational material for Odia school students etc.
The couple’s service to the ongoing social work of the Foundation was recognized by receiving separate Gauraba Shree-24 Sammans from the Embassy of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and Maitri Place Foundation in Delhi on 5th February. This honor has been handed over by Union Minister Ramdosh Athawala and Myanmar Ambassador Kayo Yang. This doctor couple stands beside the helpless poor even with their own money. Dr. Sethy, a resident of Dampur in Puri district of Odisha, has now permanently settled in Kolkata. Dr. Sethy has also been honored with the Buddha Shanti International Award for his dedicated service.
