JPDEPC Unveils Grand Expo of Jute Products in Kolkata

Jute Products Development & Export Promotion Council (JPDEPC), a body of jute entrepreneurs, is organizing a spectacular two day trade show ‘JUTEXPO 2023’ in Kolkata from 2nd to 3rd March.

JUTEXPO is the flagship export promotion event organized annually by JPDEPC. The main objective of this expo is to promote jute product export from India. This Expo is being sponsored by Ministry of Textile, Government of India. JUTEXPO is in it’s 5th edition this year. More than 100 foreign buyers from 17 countries are participating in this grand show. Apart from regular exhibition and buyer-seller meet, the expo also includes an interesting set of events. An award show was organized on 2nd March to recognize key performers in different business categories from the jute industry. The award show was followed by a scintillating fashion show where professional models walked the ramp showcasing stylish and trendy jute bags and accessories. This kind of fashion defing ramp show can be a trendsetter in promoting eco-friendly fashion accessories curbing the uses of leather and polymer items. A series of cultural programs highligting Indian culture also were staged before the foreign visitors.

A press meet also was organized on the first day. Mr Siddharth Lohariwal, Chairman of JPDEPC, Mr. Gopal Saraf, Vice chairman of JPDEPC and committee members Mr. Vivek Agarwal, Mr. Rajesh Khemka, Mr. Sanjay Goel were present at the press meet.

“Jute products export has almost doubled post covid. We are happy to share that several schemes of government are helping industry too”, said Mr. Siddharth Lohariwal.

“India is much ahead of other countries regarding the quality of jute products. There is huge demand of Indian jute products internationally”, said Mr. Gopal Saraf.
