Pravasi Odia Vikash Samiti Celebrated Maha Visuhva Sankranti

Pravasi Odia Vikash Samiti (POVS), the Odia Diaspora Organization, organised the Odia New Year Maha Vishuva Sankranti at Viswa Yuvak Kendra Delhi on 14th April.

Prof. Rakesh Sinha, honble MP Rajyasabha in his key note address emphasised the positive mind to accept the positive news. The present day debates are fierce attack on each other, the debates during the Constitution framing are of highly accolade. He mentioned how Lokanath Mishra who was the member of Constitution drafting committee, debated on the secularism. He advised to be not to be slave of the technology but to have proper use and the social media trends to be proper for the growth of the nation.

Presided over by Surya Narayan Mishra, the President of the Pravasi Odia Vikas Samiti (POVS), he highlighted how the faith and belief of Hinduism in the country is being undermined in the name of the minority and how the miscreant does not hesitate to condemn the country by serving false news to serve personal interests. He appealed for the preservation of the Indian and Odia civilization, literature, use Odia language, culture and heritage at the universal level. He requested to be vigilant towards democracy in the upcoming elections. He appealed, and each one should make efforts to bring good government. Mr. Chinmay Mohanty, Vice President, introduced the guest. General Secretary Bijaya Nabami proposed a vote of thanks.

In the second session, there was detailed discussion on the “Impact of Positive news in National Growth and development”. The session was moderated by Prof Satya Bhusan Dash, Prof IIM Lucknow. Prof. Satyabhushan Das stressed the need of positive news to move the nation forward and looked at how negative news is affecting our nation and the world and how dire the consequences can be, media should shoulder its responsibility to serve correct news. PTI Editor (Video Services) Rajesh Sundam discussed the horror and quality content of Deep Fake. He suggested how to tackle it. Along with this,. Advised. Among the other guests, Mr. Jayantha Ranganathan spoke about the coming centenary of India, India’s growth rate at an all-time high. Dr. Ajit Thakkar and Sandeep Saksena had their views on the impact of positive news on the growth and development of the nations. The program was attended by thousands of Odia Diaspora. The session was concluded with the thanks given by Dr. Prakash Sahu.
The audiences were sered odia food followed a cultural program comprising of dance and music festivals.

Mr Santosh Rout conducted the music and dance program. Many artists from Odisha and Delhi performed and people enjoyed it.
Artist Madhurima of IIM Lucknow created a painting on Pana Sankranti of Odisha. It was also attended by many eminent persons from Delhi NCR region.
